I'm looking to replace a Watermill PR50D pump (twin impeller 1.5bar) but have noticed that some are advertised as "regenerative" and others are not. What's the difference?

Thanks!

Centrifugal shower pumps

Centrifugal pumps use a paddle design for the impeller and are therefore more prone to air ingress. They require a 2 meter head of water to operate and tend to be quieter in operation.

Regenerative Shower Pumps

Regenerative pumps have a solid impeller with grooves cut into the body similar to a cog. This design aids the removal of air and can be fitted with a low head of water from the bottom of the header tank pump.
They are slightly noisier than the low voltage pumps.

Thanks! Is there any way of telling if the PR50D pump that need replacing is a regenerative or centrifugal one? or does the PR50D only come in one variety?

Regen.

The pipes go in and out the top

Centra.

One pipe goes in the centre and the other out the top.
