|
|
| Hi, I have 2 thermostatic 609 showers which runs off the mains. Recently the flow diminished massively and the temp went from hot to cold within a minute without me adjusting controls. (This happened on all faucets throughout the property). The plumber has replaced the thermostatic value on mixer pipe in my thermal store type bolier (PowerMax 155), and although this seems to have fixed the problem in my second shower (and all other faucets), I still have a slightly reduced flow in my en-suite Aqualisa shower (it is normally fantastically powerful) which still runs luke warm after a few minutes. I have called the plumber back as he needs to increase the temp on the new value that he has installed in the bolier, as in the spare shower I have to turn the temp control up to max to get a decent temp, but my questions is; could I still have a problem with my en-suite shower itself, ie the thermostatic cartridge needs replacing? The problem with turning up the temp control to max actually means getting a reduced flow as well! Hope I've given enough info! |

On your existing cartridge check that the hot inlet filter is not blocked ( it is fitted in teh rear of the central tube in the cartridge).
If it is clear then it sounds as if a new cartridge is reuired, click on the link below to order online.

Thanks Alastair,
I will get the plumber to have a go at this! I live in a very hard water area and suffer a lot from limescale, could this be a contributing factor?
Many thanks |

Yes limescale can cause valve to malfunction.
